happy things

I just stumbled upon the house tour of Caitlin Van Horn of the beautiful Roost blog over at  Design*Sponge via tumblr during a search for the source of a photo I wanted to post. My point here is that I immediately had to scrap the old post I was working on and share this with you - if you haven't already seen it. I love everything about this house. There is just something about white + antique finds + summer. love it. check out the rest of the house here - the bathroom and kitchen are equally dreamy.

space love :: white

It is supposed to be in the triple digits today, so I thought I would keep it cool with these lovely white interiors.  {hands down my favorite decorating color.} You will see that most of them are via Lolalina - a new-to-me blog that I can't stop clicking through - so much inspiration! It is amazing how many wonderful, beautiful, inspiring blogs are out there that i just don't know about yet.  Do you have a current favorite?

pretty package

I was so inspired by Heidi Swanson's latest post that I had to share - though this time it is not one of her delicious recipes but a pretty package of postcards she has been assembling.  She is coming out with a new cookbook and is putting together these packets for people that attend book signings, etc.

 Aren't they beautiful?  I'm so inspired that I'm making a stop in Japantown today for some of my own pretty paper tape.  Will take a picture of the goods and share tomorrow...  For now, simply enjoy the eye candy (her photography is gorgeous) and head on over to 101cookbooks for some truly inspired recipes.

COSAS MINIMAS

I love these prints by Madrid-based illustrator/designer Blanca Gomez of Cosas Minimas.  Very clean, simple and modern - yet something about them takes me back to various books and cartoons from my childhood (think Pink Panther).  You can see more in her Etsy shop...

PATA PRI = l.o.v.e.

I have a new love.  PataPri by Yuko Uemura.  Well, actually I have been a fan for a while now, but her shop has been closed as she has been hard at work printing new products for us to drool over.  Because her shop is newly stocked {yay!}, I wanted to share this fun designer with you in hopes that you will find her goods as delightful as I do.  {note: bedding should be added to the shop anytime now AND she is offering free shipping until November 30th!}

Yuko uses water-based, toxic free inks and hand prints all of her designs on 100% cotton {towels} and quadruple guaze fabrics {blankets/bedding} for the ultimate softness.  I am in love with her modern graphics and can't wait to buy some items for my new place... I'm thinking the apple dish towels would be the perfect addition to brighten up my kitchen.  {and how awesome is her studio?? on her blog you can see before and after pictures - pretty amazing what she did with the space}

HOUSE TOUR INSPIRATION

I love seeing how other people live - all of the little touches and details that are combined to make a home are so personal and telling.  Occasionally I head over to Apartment Therapy and browse the numerous house tours for inspiration.  Today I found one that I wanted to share - the bright and sunny San Francisco apartment of Emily and Meeko.  To see the entire slideshow click here.

You can just see the care that went into every little detail when putting this apartment together. I love that. I also am really starting to love the color yellow and definitely plan on incorporating it into my new space...
